Bloodless Lifting (PDO Threaded Yarns)
Lifting with PDO threads is an innovative and safe method that corrects the fall of the face without surgery while they are 100% bio-absorbable. What they do is to straighten the facial tissues immediately and secondarily create a grid of collagen and elastin that corrects the existing relaxation. They are an excellent alternative for people who have moderate fall and relaxation and do not want to undergo surgery.
What material are the threads made of?
The threads are made of PDO (Polydioxanone), a material used in surgeries. Absorbed – dissolved by the body by hydrolytic process to water and carbon dioxide at a very predictable rate and manner. During this process the body produces collagen around the material with the end result of the disappearance of the material and its ‘replacement’ by collagen fibers in a specific device.
The PDO threads are widely used in aesthetic medicine worldwide in the last five years and produced in South Korea after years of research, following strict European safety standards (CE).

How are they placed?
Under local anesthesia in the doctor’s office, with the help of special thin needles in which the threads are located. Each needle has a thread which it inserts into the skin and by removing it, the thread remains in the place where we placed it. Immediately after we pull the threads in the direction we want to straighten and cut them where it suits us. In this way we have immediate erection to the desired degree for the area and the patient. Patients leave the Clinic only when they see the erection they desire.
Suitable patients
At the age of 35-40 years, in people whose skin needs straightening, support and tightening. The older the age, the denser the grid must be in order to be able to create the right erection and collagen infrastructure.
In which parts of the body?
The most common areas of the body where the treatment is applied are on the face (oval, nasopharyngeal, cheekbones, goose foot, forehead, middle eyebrow), neck, abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, back and chest.
Results:
Clear and immediate improvement of the contour of the face and nasopharynx. Patients leave the Clinic only when they see the erection they desire.
In other areas of the body we see results of straightening and tightening which improve day by day until the end of the third month when the image stabilizes for about 12-18 months. After three months, the placement of additional threads is reviewed to maintain the result.
Complications:
There are no complications other than very rare local bruises. Slight swelling and perhaps a small strain on the skin that actually help in healing, disappear in 10-15 days.

Duration of effect:
Although yarn companies claim to exist up to 60 months after they enter the skin, a realistic approach is 12 to 24 months.
