Wrinkles on the forehead
The Botox or Dysport applicationas a treatment for wrinkles on the forehead, also known as “frown lines”, lines on the sides of the eyes, also known as “goose foot” and wrinkles on the neck, is the most successful aesthetic treatment. Wrinkles can be improved of the forehead but also to change the shape of the eyebrows. With selective injections, the eyebrows can come up higher and look fresher and more arched. Especially for men, we make sure that the shape remains horizontal or as it was before the application. This is also an excellent form of treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) in the armpits, palms and soles. In some cases, it also seems suitable for treating migraines by preventing forehead muscle spasm.
The Process in brief
The treatment is one of the most successful non-invasive cosmetic treatments. Very small amounts of Botulinum toxin A (BTX-A) are injected into the skin with a fine needle to reach the muscles. No anesthetic is used, but sometimes the skin is cooled with ice. Usually two Botox or Dysport formulations are used with identical results. Due to the way it is prepared and diluted, Dysport seems to be more stable in its results.
After treatment patients are instructed to do some exercises to ensure that the product reaches the muscles properly, for maximum effectiveness. It takes about 2 days to start the action of the drug, 10-12 days to complete the maximum and final action of the drug and lasts for 4-6 months. This may be slightly shorter in the first applications, and longer after the subsequent applications.
BabyBotox or MiniBotox
For men mainly but also for women who do not want to “freeze” their face, we use a little more than half the amount, so that there is a more natural image of the face after application. This treatment should be repeated every 3 months, so as not to lose the good result.
Recovery from injectable wrinkle treatment
The skin around the injection site may be slightly red for the first hour after application. It is possible that there are very small bruises. It is necessary to avoid exercise and bending over for 3 hours after treatment, so that the drug does not spread to areas we do not want. We also avoid the heat, Turkish bath, sauna,
hot steam, very hot water in the shampoo and very hot hair dryer for the next 10-12 days, to ensure its maximum effect.
Time from work and socialization
No time off from work is required either on the day of treatment or afterwards. Patients are advised to avoid alcohol, aspirin and heat on the scalp immediately after treatment to avoid further bruising or unintentional diffusion of the product.
Time for exercise
Patients should avoid performing any intense exercise on the day of treatment, for 3-4 hours after.
Driving ability will not be affected by this process.
The results will be visible in about 12 days. You will be back in 12-14 days for a final check of the result. Avoid injecting a large amount of product into the forehead, preventing it from becoming completely paralyzed and looking unnatural like a mask.
Possible complications with injectable wrinkle treatment
Treatment is a successful routine procedure for the vast majority of patients. However, as with any procedure, it is very important to understand what can go wrong. Possible complications are listed below.
Eyelid drooping: The chance of this happening is reduced by avoiding injection into the sensitive area of the eyelids. It occurs due to diffusion of the drug, which could paralyze the muscles that raise the eyelid. It is corrected medicinally or by applying heat.
Minor asymmetry: The same injection will be given on both sides of the face. However, there is a small chance that there will be a greater impact on one side than on the other. It is corrected at the second visit with drug injections in specific places.
Bruises: Any bruising / bruising will be minor.
Allergic reactions: Extremely rare.
