Possible complications with liposuction
This is a common operation that is very successful for the vast majority of patients. However, as with any procedure, it is very important to understand what can go wrong. Possible complications are listed below.
Repetition: Not really a complication, but you can get the fat back if you do not control your weight. The fat cells do not come back, but the ones that are left become bigger.
Minor asymmetry: The same operation will be performed on both sides. However, the effects of surgery can be different on both sides. Corrected with local anesthesia.
Scars: The quality of the scars varies between patients.
Skin irregularities / asymmetries: Small areas with asymmetry may be observed. Corrected with local anesthesia.
Altered sensation: Some altered sensation may be observed, but is usually restored during the first month.
Bruises / bruises: Usually minor. They disappear in about 10-15 days.
